About
Built for autism families — not every diagnosis, not every state.
Navela is the calm place where families raising kids with autism (ages 0–21) get plain-language guidance, insurance appeal drafts, and a path through benefits — starting in Texas, Florida, and New Jersey.
Why we exist
Most tools try to cover every disability in one place. We go deep on one diagnosis across three hard states — with the strongest focus on insurance denials, because that is where families lose months of ABA, speech, and OT while deadlines quietly expire.
We also ask the question other tools skip: is your plan fully insured or self-funded (ERISA)? That single answer changes which laws apply. State autism mandates do not bind most self-funded employer plans — federal parity and appeal rights do.
What we believe
- · Direct answers first, then the qualifier — 8th-grade English, no fog.
- · One free appeal letter a year should never require a credit card.
- · We never invent dollar amounts, deadlines, or citations. When unsure, we point to the official source.
- · We are not a law firm or a medical provider. Drafts are starting points you review before sending.
What families ask for
“Someone to unlock the coverage she's entitled to: appeals, buy-in programs, full list of benefits.”
That's the product in a parent's words — before Navela had a name. We build toward that: Rights Map, appeal drafts you review and send, and a path with real contacts.
Who is building this
Navela is being built by a small founding team (product + content) focused on autism navigation in TX/FL/NJ. Full personal founder stories for our accelerator application are being finalized — they will live here as soon as they are ready.
Need from founders: 3–4 sentences each on who you are, why this product, and any lived experience with autism systems you want public. Paste in chat or email — we will publish them on this page without inventing details.
