Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Navela collects, uses, and shares consumer health data, and how you can exercise your rights.
Who we are
Navela is operated by Arina Zarochintseva and Iuliia (Yulia) Gorbunova. Contact: support@navela.care.
Consumer health data we collect and why
- Information that may show you are seeking support related to a health condition. Contacting Navela, and the topic you choose on our request form (for example, insurance, Medicaid and waivers, SSI, or school services), may indicate that your family is looking for autism-related support. We use this to respond to your request and arrange your free call.
- Information you share if you choose to work with us. This may include your child’s health conditions (such as an autism diagnosis), disability-related needs, therapies and services, insurance coverage and decisions about care, and health-related information in benefits or school documents. We use it to research options, prepare the Navigation Plan you agreed to, and provide any follow-up support you choose.
We do not collect precise location, biometric, or genetic data. We do not use consumer health data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We do not collect, use, or sell consumer health data to train large language models.
Where the data comes from
We collect consumer health data from you, as the parent, guardian, or other authorized representative, through our request form, emails, Zoom calls, and documents you choose to share. We do not obtain records directly from clinicians, schools, insurers, or government agencies.
How we collect it
We collect consumer health data when it is necessary to provide a service you have asked for, such as arranging a call you requested or preparing a plan you agreed to, and with your consent where the law requires it. Our request form asks for your consent before you submit it; that consent is separate from any marketing choice. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing support@navela.care. Withdrawing consent does not undo use that already happened, and we may not be able to continue a service that needs the information.
Consumer health data we share, and with whom
We do not share consumer health data with any affiliates or other third parties. We use the following service providers (processors), which handle data on our behalf and only to provide their services to us:
- Google: Google Forms, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace email. These may contain any of the categories above that you choose to send us.
- Zoom: video calls. Calls are not recorded.
- Netlify: website hosting, which involves technical information about visits to our website.
We may disclose consumer health data when the law requires it. If we ever wanted to share consumer health data with a third party for another purpose, we would first ask for your separate consent where the law requires it.
Collection by other companies on our website
We do not allow third parties to collect consumer health data about your activities over time and across websites through our site. When our embedded Google Form or our fonts load, Google receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details, under Google’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data (we do not sell it);
- give you access to your consumer health data, including a list of the third parties and affiliates we have shared it with and how to contact them;
- correct inaccurate consumer health data;
- stop collecting or sharing your consumer health data, or withdraw your consent;
- delete your consumer health data.
To make a request, email support@navela.care. We may need to confirm your identity and, if the request is about your child or someone else, your authority to act for them. We will not ask for more information than we reasonably need for that.
We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend this by up to 45 more days where the law allows, and we will tell you why. When we delete data, we also tell our service providers to delete it. Data in backup systems is deleted within the time the law allows.
Appeals
If we decline your request, we will explain why. To appeal, email support@navela.care with “Health data privacy appeal” in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days and explain our decision. If we deny your appeal, we will tell you how to contact your state’s attorney general.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date and the last-updated date above and post the new version on our website. We will tell you about important changes before they take effect and ask for your consent where the law requires it, including before collecting new categories of consumer health data or using or sharing it for a new purpose.
